BEEN THERE
This movie is really something different, partly because the main character, Juno some 16 year old teenager who is so not your stereotype teenage girl. Well, the storyline might not be twisted or unpredictable, but its a complete, yet tame storyline. As you can see from the movie poster, the movie is themed teenage pregnancy which leads to adoption. The story starts with a chair and not wanting to spoil the story, ends with a chair. Juno is one sarcastic and funny girl, well the humour isn't that direct but its not hard to get either. To me she's like the more messed up and grown up version of Lil Lulu (kinda). Through this movie, you get to see American high school life that most of us will never experience and how a girl gets pregnant. No idea why they didn't use any protection or the condom got torn in the process, but I think the latter is untrue because there was no whining/rant of that incident throughout the movie. Well, thats how teenage high school life is portraited in the movies, but you can never be sure if its true unless you've been there or you ask someone who is or had... After I finished it, the movie brings like a mellow feeling, like your in a helium balloon, floating and you won't notice if the line snapped and you end up blown away by the wind. The soundtracks are very interesting, they represent a more youthful type of song writing and melody, sweet and a little bit of country acoustic guitar songs. With that story of a teenage girl, smart and funny dialogues with sweet subtle music to add, definitely something thats worth your time. How did I get to watch it you might ask? Well, its not much of a mystery...XD
