POST #121  wow, that much huh?

My KL Trip!

Well, if you did not know, I was in KL last week.  It was a 8 day trip that was planned in April last year!  Had lotsa fun and I spent lotsa money... but I guess it comes with the territory.  Places we've been to includes Midvalley, Kl Sentral (hell lots of times), Genting, Chinatown, 1 Utama, Times Square, Sungei Wang Plaza, Lot 10, Sunway, thats it!  Sadly, we did not had the time to visit Pavillion, Gardens, The Curve. KLCC, Low Yat Plaza and they said 8 days were too long... but it is true that the longer you stay, the more you spend. Me? I'm the one who spent the most on that trip, does anyone like to challenge that?hahaha...!  T.T

The flight was shorter than I expected, I suppose that's how it is when you have people to talk to and play with.  LCCT terminal is okay by my standards, the only problem is the chairs, they are scarce and cheap-ish, but then its LCCT...

We took the AeroBus, cheaper when we bought round trips.  Sadly though, we arrived in KL during rush hour traffic, so agonizing, but Kelly Clarkson eased the blows, hehehe...

We saw our hotel from KL Sentral, it was tall and lean, like KS, haha.  We walked there, carrying our luggage... a bit tough, but it was only about 2-3 minutes away.  The hotel specialty includes  great location, indian food everywhere and bathrooms with no locks.  All in all, still a good hotel.

Went to Chinatown, had tasty Chicken rice, bought shoes, haggled, XD.

Midvalley Megamall was HUGE!  We took the komuter, and some of us got SCAMMED when we crossed the bridge from the station to the mall, not telling names or the story, cos its not my story to tell, =P.  The place really had everything, but the toilets suck though.  I saw the big Nadal wall too, haha! Cudn't really buy anything cos the stuff were too expensive and not much stores were on sale, until I reached The Reject Shop.  @@  That was when I first caught the "fever".  Darn fever...   Saw lots of shops, a white Samsung Jet and a well designed pet shop.  We bought supplies too, for Genting, and dinner, and the RM10 cheese cake.  It was quite tasty.. but the RM12 one is better, I must admit...  Sad thing about Midvalley for me is that I did not have the chance to try the cream puff... T.T  RM3.80 each... but its so big... so tasty and I bet there's alot of cream inside....  damn... T.T

Genting, the road was steep!  Incredible how people dare to go on those roads in the mist at night.  Finally spent night time at Genting, could see my breath! It could be the most chilly place I've been to so far.  I managed to get into the casino, went bowling instead, they had awesome music and a very clubby atmosphere.  Played in the themepark, went on all the extreme rides, excluding the Flying Coaster, since it demands an extra charge of rm10, and it does'nt even last for 1 minute!  I got spun, horizontally, vertically, dropped and swung.  Hui Ling was right, the Pirate Ship is just a giant swing, really gotta salute that girl, went on all the extreme rides she did...  Genting, not to mention the view, it really was above the clouds, or at least among the clouds.  Saw a great number of beautiful sceneries.  The flowers also blossomed shamelessly, beautiful flowers that would not stand temperature below the mountain.  Cecilia said he saw Tzin Yee, what a coincidence that was...  Oh, shopping spree took place here too.  Put it this way, whenever you wanna buy stuff at Padini, let me know, cuz I got the member card.  @@   The hotels at Genting did not need Air-Conditioning, they just have the problem of keeping warm. 10 person in a quad room of Themepark Hotel, it looked like a refugee camp, haha, but it was lots of fun too! Tho I must say, the corners of the room were quite dirty, lousy housekeepers...

When we went down, stopped by at the temple thing.  Building a temple above the clouds, genius!  The scenery was great, mostly because of the weather.  We saw Uncle Lim too, haha! His statue I mean...

Our hostel, Bedz KL,  it was not bad, had a lot of ang-mos too.  The location is not that strategic leh, had to walk quite a bit, but still reasonable distance.  I had decent sleep there, must be the bed, but the cleanliness raises doubt. @@ .  The place was cheap though, its a place I would go back, for one-night stay.  They do not provide drinking water, =( .  So much food at Jalan Alor, I had claypot chicken rice...

Times Square, another megamall, but they're mostly women's clothing or just not my taste.  It was the first time I met Romp, then I realised that in every mall, there seems to be a Romp store.  The stores on the ground store are way to high-end for me.  I had a Subway too~, it was so healthy and there are no hidden tax involved.  Next time, I'm gonna go for the 1-foot long bun, Subway is awesome!

One Utama, it seems small to me, but from the outside, damn its big...  We took a taxi there, but we took the bus back.  One thing I love about the place is that it had this touchscreen directory on every escalator, they are very user friendly too because you can select a store and they will tell u how to get there.  Unfortunately, we did not get to try any of the bistros there, in KL too, on that matter, food is just expensive, compared to home.  I had another spree, haha.  In the end, there was a lot of stores that I missed, not because I did not have the time, because the place was very very confusing.  Finally had Burger King, haha.

Sungei Wang Plaza is quite a good place to shop, can be considered as the smaller version of Times Square, and now then I know that it is actually connected to BB plaza, hehe.  So many things that I can buy there, just did not have the spending power anymore, sadly.

Lot 10 on the other hand literally did not have anything, maybe because it was under renovation?  Tho, the half-price on sushi and bento after 8.30pm drew us to the place twice. Hehe...

Sunway, The Pyramid would be my favourite place to shop among all the ones that I've been to, apart from Midvalley.  It was clean, had all the labels and not confusing at all.  The themepark, wow I played till I was to tired to do anything.  The pirate ship there, Pirate's Revenge was very extreme!  I got spun 360, held up head down in mid-air until all the blood went to my brain.  Went on the rides more than once, except for the Pirate's Revenge, hehe.  We got to see real tigers too, really majestic creatures they are...  Finally went to the wet park this time, nothing scary, just enjoy the exhiliration at high speeds.  We had a hard time getting the bus back to KL from Sunway because we could not find the bus-stop!  Well, we did find it in the end, =)

The next day, which was the last day, did not have much to do.  We were bored, so we went to the airport very early.  Again, we saw great scenery on the plane because the sun was setting, then we got to see the lights of our city from above, hehe...  My parents could'nt recognise me because I was wearing my beanie!

It was a great trip, very proud of ourselves because we used every single type of public transport available.  Monorail, bus, taxi, LRT, komuter and rental van.  I had a great time, not really the time of my life, but still a really great time.  =)

Sorry guys, I'm too lazy to post photos up here, but feel free to see them on my facebook
